After the Work Is Finished
Your US client’s finance department is set up to pay US vendors. When they receive an invoice from a freelancer in Manila, the payment path changes. International wires may need approval. Currency conversion adds cost. The client’s accountant might ask for a W-8BEN or question the location. These steps can delay your payment by days or weeks.
There is a practical fix that does not require you to form a US company or open a US bank account.
A US Company on Your Invoice, Without the Overhead
Panorama Systems Florida LLC acts as the merchant of record for your work. You agree on the project scope and rate with your client. When it is time to bill, you provide the details to Panorama. The client receives an invoice showing Panorama Systems as the vendor—a US company with a Florida address. The payment goes to a US bank account. This keeps everything inside the client’s standard domestic accounts-payable workflow.
You are not an employee of Panorama and the arrangement does not create an employment relationship. You remain an independent freelancer, responsible for your own taxes in the Philippines.
Getting Paid in Manila: Your Choice of Payout
Once Panorama receives the client’s payment, the settled amount is remitted to you, after the service fee is deducted. You select how you want to receive the funds: Wise, SWIFT, a local PHP bank transfer, or USDT. If you pick a PHP transfer, the amount is converted and sent to your Philippine bank account through the local banking system. Wise and SWIFT can give you more options for holding foreign currency or routing through other accounts.
The timeline depends on the client’s payment speed and the payout method you chose. No one can promise a specific number of days. Choose the path that best fits how you manage your business finances.
Your Responsibilities as a Freelancer in Manila
Using a merchant-of-record service does not change your tax obligations. In the Philippines, you are self-employed or operating a business. You must file and pay your own taxes with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Panorama does not withhold any Philippine taxes on your behalf and cannot give tax advice. Consult a local accountant if you are unsure about your registration or reporting duties.
What you do get is a clean transaction record. The service fee will appear on your statements, and you decide how to account for it in your own books.
