Billing US Clients from Lagos (Èkó) — What Actually Works

Lagos (Èkó), Nigeria

Freelancers in Lagos invoice a US client by sending a bill from Panorama Systems Florida LLC, a US company. The client pays a domestic US entity by their normal method; Panorama then forwards the amount to you in USDT, minus a service fee. You handle your own taxes—Panorama is not your employer and gives no tax advice.

Why Bother Routing Through a US Company?

If a Lagos freelancer sends an invoice under their own name, US accounts-payable teams often balk. They want a W-9, or a US bank account to pay into, or they stall while someone figures out whether a cross-border wire requires extra approvals. Panorama solves that by letting you bill from a registered US company. Your client sees a Florida address, pays via ACH or wire like any domestic vendor, and moves on.

The cost is a service fee taken off each invoice, and the money arrives as USDT, not naira. If you already move crypto, the trade-off may be worth it. If you’re hoping for a bank deposit, this isn’t built for you.

The Day-to-Day of Billing with Panorama

You open an account, provide the details needed to generate US invoices, and when work is done, you log in and issue an invoice from Panorama’s entity. You forward that PDF to your client like any normal bill.

The client pays Panorama. Once the payment clears—which might take a few business days—Panorama deducts its fee and initiates a USDT transfer to your wallet. The extra step is real, but for US clients who get nervous wiring money to an individual in Lagos, the domestic payment comfort can close deals faster.

Payout Rules for Nigeria – Read Carefully

No one likes fine print that arrives late, so here it is: bank transfers of any kind are not available for freelancers in Nigeria. No Wise, no SWIFT, no SEPA, no local NGN transfer. Payouts settle exclusively in USDT, on one of these networks: TRC-20 (Tron), ERC-20 (Ethereum), BEP-20 (BSC), TON, or Solana.

You’ll need a self-custody wallet that supports your chosen network. Panorama won’t help you set it up or recommend one. If you send the wrong address, the transfer is gone—crypto doesn’t reverse. Double-check the network and the address before confirming.

The Gaps This Service Doesn’t Fill

Panorama is not your employer. It doesn’t withhold taxes for any country, and it won’t tell you what you owe to FIRS. You remain completely responsible for your own tax filings and compliance.

There’s no office or legal entity in Lagos, so support is remote. If a client demands to see insurance certificates, incorporation documents showing you as an employee, or a local office address, this arrangement won’t provide that. It’s a billing passthrough—nothing more, nothing less.

FAQ

Do I need a US bank account or a US address to use this?

No. That’s the entire reason the service exists. The client pays a US entity, so you never need a US bank account, Tax ID, or physical address in the States. You only need a crypto wallet to receive USDT.

Why can’t I get paid in naira or via my Nigerian bank account?

Bank-based payout methods (Wise, SWIFT, local transfer) are not available for Nigeria. The only settlement option is USDT. If you need naira, you’ll need to convert the USDT yourself through a Nigerian exchange or peer-to-peer service; we have no hand in that.

What exactly does Panorama charge?

Panorama takes a percentage of each invoice amount as a service fee. The rate is shown upfront during account registration, with no monthly charges or hidden fees. You’ll see the exact deduction in naira-equivalent terms before you finalize an invoice.

Does Panorama help with Nigerian taxes?

No. Panorama does not give tax advice or file any tax documents on your behalf, in Nigeria or elsewhere. You remain solely responsible for reporting your income to FIRS and paying any taxes due. You are a freelancer, not our employee.

What happens if the client demands a refund?

Refunds are not automated. If a client demands their money back, our support team will work with you case by case. Typically, you’d need to return the USDT to us first, and then we refund the client through our US payment processor. This can take time.
